In 1988 I earned my Bachelor of Science In Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I studied both the oboe and piano. I have enjoyed teaching piano privately, as well as in my classroom at the elementary level for over 18 years. Prior to working in the public school system I was employed by a private program in Pennsylvania as a music therapist and alternative school music educator where I had the opportunity to work with some of the most unique learners in the country.
My personal teaching style utilizes a variety of modalities and multi-sensory approaches designed to prepare students for a lifetime of music making and music literacy.
I love the curiosity and energy children bring to learning a new skill. Their enthusiasm is infectious and incredibly rewarding. My favorite moment is seeing the look of accomplishment on a student's face when he or she accomplishes something believed too difficult just a few moments before.
Recently I have expanded my studio to include preschool students. Ask me about the wonderfully engaging and developmentally appropriate Wunderkeys Program for 3-5 year old children today!!
